Founders & Origin
In 2011, Jyotika Sehra and Vaishali Shah founded Srujna after engaging with survivors of human trafficking and recognizing the long-term challenges they faced post-rescue.
By observing that many young women transitioning into adulthood lacked the necessary skills to thrive independently, the founders launched an initiative focused on training and skill development for rescued girls. Over time, this effort evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women across India.

Founder of Srujna, Jyotika brings over 13 years of experience in the development sector. She has led the organization’s growth across India, driven by a vision of building a strong network of women changemakers.
With an experience in the social sector and as a life coach, Vaishali is the co-founder of Srujna and founder of Your Purpose Company. She has designed the Super Didi program with the zest of developing women leaders at the grassroots.
